A Normal Conversation About Style

Not every episode can be exclusively about styling tactics, services, and how-to’s. Sometimes, style advice can ultimately come down to a casual conversation between two friends sharing their thoughts on different fashion-esque matters. Episode 22 is one of those episodes. We discussed several topics and while you can read them here, it’s more fun to listen and be a part of the conversation!

Maternity Wear

Maternity wear was a big topic of conversation as Leah is in her third trimester. We discussed such things as where to even start when it comes to maternity wear, things to consider when shopping, leggings versus real pants, heels or boots at work, and the fact that Leah was essentially wearing a Star Wars cape while recording. It’s tough to find honest-to-goodness stylish maternity clothes, but with just enough determination and a desire to look good, it might just be possible to look and feel confident in clothes with a growing bump. Keep an eye out for more on maternity wear in an upcoming episode.

What to Pack for Travel

When we’re not podcasting, styling, or working in some capacity, we’re traveling. But we ask: what to pack? That is the million dollar question. We chatted about leisurely, low key, “hang-out” trips with friends as well as European trips of discovery, hopping between countries, taking in all the sights and sounds (and good food!). Ultimately, determining what to pack comes down to what type of trip someone is about to embark on. If it’s going to be a laid-back vibe, then pack some basic jeans, a tee, and tennis shoes or boots. If, on the other hand, a trip is meant to be fashion-forward, bring elevated pieces that are not only reflective of personality, but also respectful of the country and culture you’re bound to visit.

Cold Weather Clothes

We were on the brink of winter as we recorded this episode. With that inevitably comes a conversation about what to wear outside when it’s cold. The discussion centered on when and where to wear a parka, warm, stylish boots for men, and how to look cute in the cold. More on that in another episode!

High School Clothes

Ah, high school style (or lack thereof). Since we grew up on opposite ends of the country (Florida and Michigan), we discussed what we wore in high school and whether we’d wear it again. The mid-2000’s wasn’t a gracious time for fashion. Michigan and Florida didn’t help either. Our go-to’s were jeans, hoodies, converse (Anthony), and flannels and plaid (Leah). We can’t say that those are mainstays in our closets now.

Shows and Movies with Style

This is another topic we’ll discuss in an upcoming episode. Our initial thoughts on fashionable figures in film: Mindy Kaling in The Mindy Project, Renee Zellweger in Judy, Lady Gaga and Jared Leto in House of Gucci. We decided we’ll do some more digging on this topic soon.

While it may not be the most helpful and informative episode, this one may be more entertaining. Tune in again soon for more candid takes by your hosts!

Stylishly Yours,
